An Introduction to Framesets in Dreamweaver

Step Six: Naming and saving the pages.

Having created and saved the frameset we require the pages to insert just like the panes into a stained glass window.
The frameset can either be filled by linking to existing pages or by creating new ones.

The simplest method is to save the space in the frameset as new pages and naming as you save.
First we will identify our blank spaces then save:

  1. Click on the document in the top frame to activate
  2. Type Banner
  3. Then File > save As > banner.htm
  4. Click on the document in the left frame to activate
  5. Type Menu
  6. Then File > save As > menu.htm
  7. Click on the document in the right frame to activate
  8. Type Content
  9. Then File > save As > content.htm
  10. Then save the updated frameset File > save Frameset

View in site manager to see pages
Please note you may also have an empty Untitled.htm frame in the site! (this can be used later or deleted)
